Characteristics lesions of Psoriasis

Lesions exhibit the following characteristic as:

 • Scaling papules (raised lesions <1 cm in diameter).

• Plaques (raised lesions >1 cm in diameter).

• Well circumscribed, circular, red papules or plaques.

 • Grey or silvery-white, dry scaling from plaques.

• The lesions are typically distributed symmetrically on the scalp, elbows, knees, lumbosacral area, and in the body folds.

• Nail involvement may be present, particularly if psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is present.

 • Despite the above-mentioned characteristic presentation, the morphology can range from small tear-shaped papules (guttate psoriasis) to pustules (pustular psoriasis) and generalized erythema and scale (erythrodermic psoriasis).
